About

The Asser Hertenkamp is a historic and tranquil green space situated at the edge of the Asserbos in Assen. Established in 1841, it features a charming deer enclosure where fallow deer still roam today. The picturesque wooden deer stable, added in 1875, is recognized as a national monument, contributing to the area's rich heritage. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the surrounding Asserbos, one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and families alike.

Adjacent to the Hertenkamp is Stadspaviljoen Het Hofhuys, formerly known as Restaurant De Hertenkamp. This beautifully renovated venue offers a serene setting with views of the deer park and nearby historic villas. Het Hofhuys is an ideal location for dining, events, and meetings, embodying Drenthe's hospitality and charm. Please note that the establishment has undergone significant renovations and may have updated offerings and services.
